Beginning in October 2011, we (a group of 32 friends) began rehabbing the exterior of homes in Mesquite, TX as part of the City of Mesquite's annual Addressing Mesquite Day project. Our home rehab projects included addressing exterior code violations, safety concerns, and minor home cosmetic repairs. Our Seva made a five year commitment to work in Mesquite. In those five years of serving the community, we completed work on fifteen homes.

In October 2016, our annual home rehab project moved to Lewisville, TX where we are based. We want to publicly acknowledge that we could NOT have taken this step without the City of Mesquite's generosity.

When we decided to branch out on our own (in 2016), we asked Mesquite for permission to use their project and documents as templates to create our own project. They immediately said "yes" and were extremely supportive. And of course we personally invited them to all of our projects! Out of respect and acknowledgement for all of the hard work Mesquite put in over the years, we want to say thank you for paving the way and allowing us to learn from you!

With that in 2016 we began to host our own "Make A Difference Day" every October in Lewisville, TX. The idea of "Make A Difference Day" was started by the nonprofit Points of Light Foundation in honor of President H. Bush's vision of community service shared during his 1990 Inaugural Address - about the power of volunteering.

As of October 2022, we have retired this project until further notice.

Our intent is to take a single day in October, gather and organize our volunteers, and serve a selected neighborhood in either Lewisville or Mesquite, TX. This would first entail identifying homes with exterior code violations, safety concerns, and home cosmetic needs. We would then plan for addressing those needs by organizing our volunteers with the goal of providing selected homeowners a better and safer home in which to reside.

As of October 2019, we have rehabbed the exterior of over 40 homes and completed several community projects (parks, schools etc.)
